Inês d’Orey

Inês d’Orey was born in Porto,1977. She studied photography at London College of Printing, 2002. Much of Inês d’Orey’s artistic work focuses on the transformation of the heritage identity of the contemporary city, where the architectural object presents itself as a subject of memory, changing its meanings over time. The architecture, the polis, the border between public and private space, the investigation of places and their contexts are some of the elements that make up her body of work, whose main medium is photography, although mixing it with installation and video. She has been frequently publishing and exhibiting her work in different countries (Portugal, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Spain, United Kingdom, Slovenia, Lithuania, Brasil, Russia, Japan, USA, Serbia). Her work is part of several private and public collections, including the EDP Foundation (PT), the Art Library of Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation (PT), Câmara Municipal de Lisboa (PT), Câmara Municipal do Porto (PT), Oliva Arauna Coleción (ES) and Galleri Image (DK) . Won the Fnac New Talent prize in photography in 2007.
